Goal:

To adequately prepare the students to gain expertise in the maintenance of the database and to ensure that it is functioning as intended by the underlying operating system.

* Explain the structure of the database server and database client.

* Describe the concept of database administration.

* Discuss the Logical and physical aspects of the database architecture.

* Demonstrate the database server installation.

* Create and manipulates database and database objects like table space, user account, indexes.

* Apply the data dictionary views.

* Demonstrate user roles, privileges and security audit in the database server.

* Demonstrate concurrency control in the Database Administration.

* Demonstrate undo in  Database.

* Use the database statistics to estimate the performance and integrity of the database.

* Demonstrate backup failure recovery in the database server.
